Working with the NSPCC, Child Protection in Sport Unit and WT Associates, Canoe England has developed both policies and procedures to support everyone involved in our sport and we will investigate all reported concerns or allegations.

CHILD PROTECTION TRAINING REQUIREMENTS (15/4/11)
Following a review of the timeline for Child Protection Training Requirements for Coaches the BCU Child Protection Steering Group has taken consideration of the issues and time commitments involved on the part of Coaches and has therefore extended the timeline for undertaking training to the 31st December 2011. Completion of the training requirement will need to be completed by this time in order to remain a current updated coach.
PORTABILITY OF DBS CERTIFICATES (30/3/11)
Following the government’s announcement to the changes in DBS and the introduction of portable checks in the future, the BCU has introduced a portability process. This aims to help those individuals who have to undertake numerous DBS checks.
