Senior Development Officers (SDO)
Following the restructuring of Canoe England in 2007, a new development officer staffing structure has been implemented. We have split the country into 3 Team Areas, Team North (NW, NE and Yorks), Team Central (EM, WM and Eastern) and Team South (LSE, SW and Southern). These Teams are headed up by an SDO. The SDO's are responsible to the Head of Paddlesport Participation Programme and responsible for voluntary Local and Regional Coaching Officers, Regional Paddlesport Development Officers and Regional Club Coaches within their teams.
Their key role is to plan, support, monitor and to develop Paddlesports opprtunities within their team and to implement Canoe Englands Paddlesport Participation Programme.
Paddlesport Developments Officers (PDO)
These are professional staff that work in the Regions and focus on local areas to achieve the aims of the Paddlesport Participation Programme. Their role is to initiate and facilitate activities to promote and support the development of youth opportunities and progressions in Paddlesport. They work with clubs, centres and youth organisations and run a range of workshops and events for coaches and youth (see Regional Activity) To contact your local PDO please check the list below.
