New Guidance Documents for Safeguarding and Protecting Children
The BCU is committed to providing a safe environment for all young people to enjoy Paddlesport. As part of this we have achieved the Intermediate Standard for Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport and are currently working on the Advanced Standard.
We also recognise the support that volunteers, coaches and clubs will need to implement these standards and the attached documents aim to provide guidance in this respect.
Please note that Scotland has adopted different legislation and safeguarding standards - so for events in Scotland the SCA Child Protection Policy and Procedures should apply.

Sports Satisfaction Survey
In 2009 Ipsos MORI aim to contact over 900 paddlers to take part in an on line questionnaire. This is the first survey of its kind in the UK and the following tells you a bit more about it.
We urge anyone who is contacted to take part in the survey to help build a picture for canoeing and what is important to our paddlers. If you do take part, Ipsos MORI will send you an exclusive preview of the headline results, so you will be able to see what people really think about canoeing. More>
