Have you got what it takes to be a future Paralympian?
GB canoeing are holding Paracanoe Talent Identification events over two days in October.
What will the day involve? Paracanoe Talent Identification Days involve a range of tests relating to the Paracanoe Olympic event of 200m. The testing will take approximately one hour inclusive of briefing and warm up. Upon arrival you will be given a time slot and group ticket that will indicate the time at which your testing will start. Depending on your group and timeslot there will be some waiting around so bring a good book and whatever refreshments you would like throughout the day, however there are also catering facilities on site.

Paddle-Ability encourages people to join in with other paddlers and to take part in whichever discipline they are interested in or would like to try out. Disabled paddlers are encouraged to take part in competition alongside mainstream paddlers allowing the focus to be on inclusion with the recognition that people may have some specific needs.
Disability canoeing is beginning to take position in the international stage being a Special Olympics sport and included in the European and World Sprint Championships in K1, K2, and V1. At international level these events are known as Paracanoe however at local level, competitors can choose to compete in the Paddle-Ability events at BCU Sprint Regattas. As interest and participation in Paracanoeing increases we are hoping to see Canoeing become a Paralympic sport.
